Sumacqua makes debut at Gulfood 2024

The world’s first sumac-based soft drink, Sumacqua, will make its debut at Gulfood 2024.

Sumacqua Founder Dr James Fox commented “We are excited to take Sumacqua to the Middle East and Gulfood is the perfect setting to launch our product into this rapidly evolving drinks market.”

Taking place in Dubai next week, Gulfood is the world’s largest annual food and beverage exhibition and brings together thousands of industry professionals.

Sumacqua's unique carbonated soft drink features the antioxidant-rich spice, sumac, along with botanicals including juniper and ginger, offering a refreshing twist on traditional beverages. 

Dr Fox added “Sumacqua is a perfect fit for the Middle Eastern market as sumac is a familiar spice to many in this region. We are keen to share the delicious taste and health benefits of Sumacqua with a whole new audience and are looking forward to meeting with prospective retailers and potential new customers at Gulfood.”

Given the growing attention on low sugar and calorie beverages in this region, with just 49 calories per 250ml can and low sugar content (4.3% from grape extract), Sumacqua is well suited to this sector, positioning itself as guilt-free refreshment which can be enjoyed by all. 

Sumacqua will be exhibiting in Sheikh Saeed Hall 1 at Stand B44.
